Gagik Geozalian
Gagik Geozalian was born in Armenia to a clarinetist father and an accountant mother. The middle of three, Gagik began sculpting daily scenes of village life at the age of five while the other children played. It was then he was discovered and recruited by a youth arts program in the capital city of Yerevan, where he began his early training.
He honed his craft through Armenia’s arts education, culminating in a Master’s Degree from the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia. He moved to the US in 1990, settling in Los Angeles where he continued his career as a sculptor and musician, singing and performing guitar and bass in a band.
Gagik has made art for community establishments and international brands alike –– sculptures for the Hotel Nairi in Yerevan to MGM Grand Hotel and New York New York in Vegas, as well as collaborations with movie studio giant Warner Brothers.
Gagik is inspired by childhood memories, growing up under Soviet rule, the natural landscapes and villages nestled within and most importantly, the friends and family that surround him.
